Windows
A window is an opening in a wall, door, roof, or vehicle that allows the passage of light, sound, and air. Windows are typically glazed or covered with a transparent or translucent material such as glass, and they can be fixed or operable to allow ventilation. Windows come in a variety of types and styles, each designed for specific functions and aesthetic preferences.
- Single-Hung Windows: Only the bottom sash moves, while the top sash remains fixed.
- Double-Hung Windows: Both the top and bottom sashes are operable, allowing for versatile ventilation.
- Casement Windows: Hinged at the side and open outward like a door using a crank.
- Sliding Windows: Operate by sliding one or more sashes horizontally.
- Fixed Windows: Comprise a central fixed window flanked by two operable windows at an angle.
- Transom Windows: Small windows placed above doors or other windows.
- Arched Windows: Windows with a rounded top, providing a unique architectural feature.
